GIS Mobile Apps

The GIS Cloud app is a complete mobile data collection solution. It is a cloud-based software as a Service (SaaS) software for managing, scheduling, and monitoring field team activities in real-time. At Orbital Africa, we employ easy-to-use mobile data collection apps on any Android or iOS mobile device to capture field data seamlessly. The GIS Cloud app can collect data while offline. The collected data can then be simply synced to the cloud when the device has an internet connection. Still, the field data collection forms can be designed and configured in office before embarking on data collection activity. The results can be downloaded in the widely used CSV (Comma Separated Value) or SPSS file format. The survey results can also be directly uploaded to the cloud or directly to your own server. More details regarding mobile data collection procedure can be viewed and downloaded here.

Orbital Africa has conducted many field data collection and mapping projects in Kenya using various Geospatial data collection apps. We employ smarthphone and tablet android/iOS enabled apps such as EpiCollect, GIS Cloud and other customized for real time field data colletion. The field collected data is sent to the cloud infrastructure in real time. Below is a sample field mapping project conducted in Eldas Constituency.
